Yes, i am a 1st generation college student with an older brother. Do you have that Berkeley flyer fro transfers that talks about what to write about in your PS. Mentioning that will do you well. Think about the opportunities that students with parents that went to college have had. Whether they took advantage of these opportunities or not, they were still there. We are starting out from square one. You might want to ask HAAS if your considered a 1st gen though cause on the UC app it ask your parents educational background and if you say that she got her AA and in your PS your mention that your the first to attend college it might not fly with with them. Better be safe than sorry.

Yeah, I definitley won't lie about anything. I will call them tommorrow and see what they count as a first gen student. I have two older brothers and an older sister that have all received their degrees but I wouldn't think that would really count..who knows I never thought to research this before.

Hello... I have a question...
I am currently taking Humanity 1 at pcc and wondering whether this will fulfill the 2 courses that I need to take for (Haas) Arts and Humanities breadth requirement. I am kinda worried cause on assist.org, although it says arts and humanities, humanity is not listed on there. Humanity 1 is a transferrable course but i am just not sure if it will fulfill the breadth requirement.
=(

bump cause I miss this thread/are there any other peeps planning on applying to haas?

Just wondering for all you people applying to Haas, does your school have a team that competes in the SIFE competition? It seems that the counselors at my school stress on participating in SIFE for those applying to Haas and it seems to pay off for the most part in the past

I have never heard of SIFE. What is it?

random competition... looks a bit nub

adamX
you should give HAAS a call and ask. Its kind of weird that they would include Art but not humanities in the course areas that would fullfill the requirment. A friend of mine is also taking a humanities course but i keep forgetting to ask her what breadth requirement she intends to fullfill with that course.

um. is it just me or does the point of SIFE beguile anybody else? why would you pretend to do free enterprise? why not just do it? im hella confused

i love the bay cause we use HELLA!!!!!!!!1 yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh
