Haha... even better... www.safetyschool.org

Hehe, gee I wonder who did that!

Although I have a soft spot for Yale ;)
Partially because it was my second choice, and partially because I plan on going there for Law School!

atheny, did you choose Dartmouth over Yale?

Yes and no, Kim. I was going to apply to Yale, I even had an interview, but I ultimately decided to apply to Dartmouth ED. It was a VERY last minute decision based on where I felt I would be happy. I was still going to apply to Yale, but it was clearly my second choice.

I think these two schools have the most beautiful campuses - one natural and the other gothic.

www.safetyschool.org oo that is too funny! lol..
how did people do this? the linky thing..

hmm...
anyhooo.. columbia rocks the house!

I agree; both have beautiful campuses.

Now I'm going to sound really corny...
There is nothing as amazing as the peaceful feeling that comes over Dartmouth when it snows. It's mid to late January, there's already a solid foot of snow, you're sitting at the Top of the Hop, or in the Baker Library stacks, and just watching the snow fall. It's like a Christmas card.

If you come to Dartmouth you will have weeks where everything is due at the same time, you are sick of your roommates, you miss home cooked food, etc. But just try to take five minutes a week to appreciate the little things like that.

Woah, I am such a sap. You can tell this is my off term.

Aww! <3

That's beautiful.

Hi Athena,

Are you finishing your off term or just starting one. Hod did (or will )you spend your leave term? Have you had the opportunity to study abroad ?

thanks, sounding like a curious student

I just finished my off term. It's my junior fall. I am working at a non-profit law firm in NYC. My freshman summer I worked full time at a restaurant. And I will be off my junior summer but I love Dartmouth so much that I am staying in Hanover, working for Housing and taking an LSAT course.

I haven't been able to study abroad (and I am the exception! Some of my friends did it twice, and it's perfectly doable.) But that is partially a personal thing... I would miss my parents too much being away that far away for ten weeks! Although I did consider the LSA+ (Language Study) in St. Petersburg, which was only 6 weeks. Ultimately my dad, ever the NYC cop, told me not to go to Russia.

I think that you already realize your nothaving to scamble for an internship/jobbecause you can schedule to do it while most other juniors are still in school is what makes Dartmouth great.

While you were away for homecoming you will be back intime for winter carnival. My daughter told me it is some sort of Peter Pan theme. Sh eis really looking forward to it.

I had to chuckle about your father not wanting you to go to russia because daughter is planning on going to Belaruz to do a habitat for humanity project with the Hillel and the tucker foundation right after the end of spring term.

One of my best friends went on the Belarus trip and said it has been one of the best parts of her Dartmouth experience thus far. (She is from Ukraine.)

Hahahahaha! Usually I hate it when people bash Harvard, but I gotta admit that that Yale stunt was brilliant.

oooh it's fun to bash Harvard! Come on! ;)

Hey I plan to do the exact same thing. And I almost EA to Yale instead...but didn't. :)

Athena:
Gee - you sound just like my D1 about Dartmouth. She graduated this year, and still can't stop going all starry-eyed about it.

Your daughter was an 04? I had a lot of 04 friends in my sorority..

But yeah, Dartmouth has a really strong alumni base :)

Nobody insults Harvard like Harvard students.
