how come all of these aisan haircuts look so emo-ish? doesn't that bother anyone else?

Well, considering that I like emo-ish haircuts, no.

But, still, they don't look that much alike, it would need to be much longer, like this http://x2e.xanga.com/c7bd672702532123401499/w89168727.jpg

I'm getting confused now btw the differnce btw cafe and college life sections! lol. :p

get a taper. makes you look clean imo

Ya damn right it does.

actually, this one was more of the one one i was talking about. short enough where you can make it look clean, but long enough where you can make it look disheveled...or anything in between. but yeah, i'll agree that long asian hair can either tend to fall flat and straight, or maybe even worse when the hair is short and nothing is done to care for it so it ends up poofy. both of which make the person look far too young.

i guess really one of the biggest issues for asian guys is to get a haircut that looks mature, but at the same time without looking too clean or stuffy.

When you guys say asian, are you speaking for people from India too?

Personally I cut my hair short this summer and I'm sick of it, I'm just gonna grow it out long like I had it last time. It looks really nice when I straighten it out... atleast I stand out from all the other 100000000 asians/indians at my college lol.. idk it gets down to my eyebrows and all around, I think it's alright.

There should just be an Asian Male Life section on these forums... "What do xxxx girls think about Asian guys", "Sideburns or no sideburns for Asian guys?", "Blue shirts or red shirts better for Asian males?", "Why was I born an Asian male?"

in less you're in the military, never use clippers on your hair. to clean and boring. tell whoever you have cut your hair to use scissors for everything or a razor for texture.

not boring if your face and the rest of your body is ridiculously good looking, like mine.

^^if it works for you then great.

all I am saying is anyone's hair has great potential to show personality and style

"on't ever go straight spiked up, it is out-dated."

Okay, whew. I'm glad I saw this thread, because right now I have a layered-shaggy cut (not a bowl cut, but with long bangs and touching my ears) and I was thinking of getting this cut tomorrow, right before I go off to college:
http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/6837/christianbelz3apq8gb0.jpg

but that look with the gelled up bangs is kind of outdated, now, right? So would something like this make me stand out less?
http://haircutsformen.org/buzz/haircuts/buzz22.jpg with the bangs not up but kind of messed up looking?

I'm a straight guy but I care too much about what other people think of me, to the point where I'm relucantly a whore to haircut fads. It's really quite sad.

ooh. I really like hair cut #2. #1 is kinda boring. #2 is nice, though.

kim jong il's hair is pretty hot...you should check that one out

lol!!! Are you kidding me?

Well, if you want to have a bit of a trendy hairstyle, googling Asian male popstars would help.

Uhm no. The only people who like those hairstyles are teenie-bopper girls in Asia.

for asian hair, the best haircuts are done with a straight razor, NOT SCISSORS. Go to a REAL salon and they should have razors on hand to do the deep, messy layering that asian hair needs so that it doesn't just fall straight, flat and boring.

This applies to cutting hair for anyone (not just Asians). The best cuts are done with dry hair and with a straight razor. The worst cuts are done with clippers.

Go to a salon or an old-school barber and get a layered cut (will cost some $$ since these types of cuts take about 45-60 minutes) the exact type of cut will depend on the shape of your head (among other things).
