<p>But If I did, I'd definitely not use gel. That hard crusty feeling is gross.</p>
<p>Honestly greasy/waxed/shiny wet hair is just sortve gross. There are some gels that you can use a tiny bit to get the effect you want.</p>

<p>You forgot all about mousse! It definitely won't make your hair look wet/shiny. It actually may have the opposite effect, if you use too much it may look dry and a bit grayish if you have brown hair, but that's just an indication you used too much product and it built up. However, depending on your style, it won't give you nearly as strong of a hold.</p>
<p>I have a pretty severe scalp disease that is hell to contain so I can't use gel or anything (just aggravates the condition even more). I like having my hair longer, but it takes so much work to keep my hair in decent condition that I just have a buzz cut now (so much easier to take care of).</p>

<p>I hate wax. Why put something in your hair that would make you not want to touch it?</p>
<p>I use gel but I've noticed that some gels are shinier/greasier than others so I try to find gels that don't make my hair stick out that much.</p>
