Haiti

TAXES, Taxes taxes people

do them the most good by praying for them

Oh My God!
Lord have mercy…

Hey guys! Sorry for falling off the face of the planet, I was busy cramming for the Feb. 1 deadline. APPLICATIONS. ARE. DONE! EXCLAMATION! Anywho.

When I posted the petition I had no intent of sparking a debate over whether people should help other people or anything like that. I totally respect all of your views, and if they’re yours-- well, I can’t change them. However, the petition’s still there, the thought’s still there, and Haiti’s still pretty much destroyed, even moreso than before (yuppers, I was aware that Haiti had a reputation of being full of poverty, gangs, and other scary non-tourist stuff like that.)

The US may have already canceled Haiti’s debt as neato said, so I guess I should clarify. This petition is to be brought to the International Monetary Fund, for the debt that still resides there. I got an email from the head of this action, Tom Hart, who wrote that he already delivered the petition to the Fund several days ago. The US Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner, and other big financial people are meeting in Alaska this week to discuss things like Haiti’s debt, and ONE is bringing the petition with even more signatures to the summit. So change IS happening! Hopefully, I mean. I know we’ll have to see.

This petition isn’t a scam, if that was what you were thinking. I really hope that no more argument will go on, 'cause the petition’s the main point here. It doesn’t go into your taxes, but it doesn’t cost money either. :'D

sheesh. america has its problems too. and we are second to last behind italy because we are so sucked into dealing with other countries problems while every one else sits there with there screen saver on. we aren’t god and let me just say neither is the president or the government. if we were then our taxes wouldn’t be as high and we wouldn’t be in an economic meltdown…have some dignity!
