congrats guys on all the hard work and getting accepted i know its not easy you are a very special group and it aint easy gettin into a boarding school. but lets not forget about Haiti like there are people dying every single day there and we cant just forget about them they still need our help and support lets just please not forget aout haiti

this is really, really off-topic. haiti’s a great cause but this has absolutely nothing to do with admissions… next time, post this in the cafe or something ?

I’d consider an acceptance the opposite of a deterrence to the disaster in Haiti, wouldn’t it make you happy. Happy people tend to donate more.

Anyway, this was irrelevant.

i just wanted you guys to remeber and have something to keep in your mind… thats all

this video should explain my thoughts
[YouTube - haiti is still here ya know](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA8Nem_pW4Y)

It’s always important to remember global issues. We must not let them weigh us down. Instead, when we are rich and successful lawyers, doctors, scientists, and politicians, we should remember the issues and think about how we can use our power to help them. So have fun with life and education, just do not become ignorant.

Sorry, we spend too much time talking about global issues and such in physics class…

^^^important, but this thread is really off topic?

im just saying haiti is still out there

If you want to get all worried about crisiss there are countries that live everyday in worse situations then Haiti. At least Haiti is getting attention and some help.

Yeah, this is off-topic. Oh well. Awareness is fine.

^agreed

@DaveDrake -there are also kids being killed over here, or don’t have food or access to clean water or proper education.

A better way to state this - is to celebrate those who got into a boarding school but to remember as students, you represent an infinitesimally small percentage of all high school students - most of whom are condemned to an uncertain future far from the benefits that will soon be bestowed on you.
