do recommendations have to be typewritten (filled and printed with acrobat) or handwriten?

although the forms do not specify, i think it's better to have your GCs and teachers type the letter. it'll show the adcom the effort they take to advocate on your behalf. what my GC did was to attach another paper, and reprint all the questions on the form, and answer them on the paper.

On the contrary , handwritten recommendations seem to be preferred especially if there is good writing . If no - type.

I wrongly typed my birthday. What to do: reprint the page or just change it with pen?

If possible, have them typed out. It is often clearer and easier for them to read. The neater your application (recommendations included) the better for you.

i was even worse off; under 'dad's name', i typed my own name. didn't realise and sent it off.
the moral? be neat, and ALWAYS check over many times before sending it off.

maybe they'll just think you were named after your dad - unless you have a strikingly feminine name like Sarah :o

stardragon: it's up to you. depends on how important or how neat you want your application to be...

there're boys who are called Tracie and girls called Max too =)

in my opinion,typewritten is better.

I think typewritten. The U.S seem to prefer formal things in this application process.
