To start things off, don't commute to college. It's the worst experience ever. It's way easier to make friends if you dorm. Also, if you get lucky at a party, you can't really bring the person back to the dorm unless they dorm themselves or your roommate is really cool.

Anyways, I'm a commuter. I have only 3 friends who dorm. The rest of my friends are commuters. It's really hard to hang out with my dorm friends because we don't really have class together and we don't eat at the same place. My dorm friends have meal plan and I don't. I usually see my dorm friends every thursday nights. We go out to party. I think I should be seeing them more often. What do you think? I don't wanna make them feel like I'm using them or something like that. Should I create time during the week other than thursdays to hang out with them? or should I continue seeing them on thursday

…

If you want to hang out more, hang out more. Is there anything keeping you from eating in the dining hall without a plan? It’s probably pretty cheap, or a friend might be able to swipe you in. Or you could make plans to go out and grab real food, I’m sure the dorm folk would appreciate that. Either way, there’s no reason you can’t hang out more just because they’re in the dorms, but if you’re all busy or have other friends/plans, there’s nothing wrong with hanging out once or twice a week.

If you want you can ask them to hang out on the weekends? When I dormed, my commuter friends would crash in my room or another friends room after a party on the weekend. Sleepovers = good bonding lol.

I dont think they’ll think you’re using them but it wouldn’t hurt to ask to hang out more and see where it goes.

oh ok. thanks for the reply. failure, the dining hall is like $11. I don’t have that kind of money lol.
