Happiness is a virtue.

I want a school where I will be happy.

I enjoy music (jam bands, indie, I like it all) , sun and fun, sports, partying, and the arts to name a few things.

I also enjoy learning, reading and thinking independently.

Where is a school that will fufill the artsy side as well as the jocky side, a school where I could go Greek and and still pursue my dreams of writing and film?

I have a 3.75 weighted and a 2070 and come from a top 10 hs.. I also hope to bring that sat around a 2110 or so.

Help me out please!!

guy or girl?

I’m a guy from FL.

Would you be interested in going to school in California?

Brown may be a reach (for nearly anyone), but it’s a fun place.

ok man

First of all

You can choose to be happy at any time.
Let me repeat that
You can choose to be happy at any time.

Actually there are a lot of Florida schools that meet your (generic) criteria

USC sounds like you.

/not a usc student

Princeton Review “Best Quality Of Life” list 2010

Based on responses from students to several questions covering food on and off-campus, dorm comfort, campus beauty, ease of getting around campus, relationship with the local community, campus safety, the surrounding area, interaction between students, friendliness and happiness of the student body and smoothness with which the school is administered.

Think I have much of a shot at getting in USC?

“I enjoy music (jam bands, indie, I like it all) , sun and fun, sports, partying, and the arts to name a few things.”

Considering that you are from FL, I would be shocked if I were the first person to recommend UGA.

UF or FSU…

Come to Clemson University on a Friday and you will see for yourself the immense pride students have in their school, we all love Clemson

UGA seems awesome but is it super super conservative?

I really didn’t like UF, FSU seemed ok.

No, UGA is not super super conservative. Overall, the student body is politically moderate. There is a significant presence of uber-conservatives, but there is an equally significant presence of uber-liberals. You will find extremists of both ends of the political spectrum, but most students fall somewhere in the middle.

And Athens the town is very liberal.

I think UGA would be a great fit for you, I assume you know about the music scene in Athens is awesome, the weather is great and there is plenty of Greek Life, sports and parties in addition to amazing academics.

So, for you… Happiness isn’t a virtue, but a necessity?

USC might be hard to get in for you, but that’s the first school I thought of.
Try looking at in-state schools, but I don’t really know that much about FL’s schools.

I think you could get into USC. No guarantees, but you’re in the range.

Ya I know about Athens, Widespread and Neutral Milk Hotel both started there!

So the town is liberal eh? Sort of like Savanah or what?

Ya I’m starting to think I’d love it there. Any other suggestions?

Don’t forget about Of Montreal, REM, and the B52s. Athens is one of the best music scenes in the whole country.

Yes, the town itself is very liberal. Lots of hippie/townie/hipster type people - lots of bars, tattoo places, cool restaurants. It has more of an indie vibe than Savannah.

If you have any specific questions about Athens or UGA, feel free to PM me.

Place to ride a fixie? Hahah
