Hi, Drexel students. Is there anybody out there in cc forumland who is happy at Drexel? Also, anything you can throw in of interest would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay. No responses. I need to do an interpretation here. Are there no happy Drexel students, or are there no Drexel students who read/participate in the CC Forum?????? Well, of course I realize that there are other possibilities. Hmmmm.

Exactly...

loslobos71: I knew you'd enjoy this.

I'm currently a rising Junior (Heading into 4th year) majoring in Business, at LeBow College. Concentration in Finance, with CS and Japanese minors.

To be quite honest, I was not all that satisfied my freshman year. I can now attribute that to the blindfolds on the sides of my head when I first started. As I progressed, I made the effort to meet professors, be proactive on campus, and studied harder. I can now say that I am satisfied with Drexel's curriculum along with the co-op program.

I believe those who 'hate' Drexel are those who aren't doing their part in the school. Meaning, they don't take any initiative in succeeding, and expect a nice fulltime offer upon graduation. I think you get what you put into this school. Perhaps these types of students would do better at a larger, well known state school.

Philadelphia is a great place for the co-op system, as there are tons of opportunities for students to gain an edge in terms of experience. For example, when I graduate I will have 1.5 years of professional exposure, and if I successfully land a summer internship, that will make it close to 2 years. Not too many students are graduating with this much experience, as well as a packed resume.

I can elaborate more on the other aspects of Drexel if you'd like. PM me, or shoot me an e-mail; I'll be more than happy to answer any lingering questions. Just one comment I'd like to make: Though I agree Drexel may not seem the most attractive, I guarantee you that if you put in the effort, you will gain so much in your time here. I'll rasie my hand - I'm a happy Dragon.

Twisty: Another great response. Thank you!

ive never attended Drexel but I applied to the school in early september. i heard alot of bad things about it but i visited it last summer and it seems like a great school, the academics sound good, and the fact that it has a CO-OP program is a big plus for me. so i think if you ignore all the people bashing it and actually try to be openminded about the school ull like it alot more. but ive never attended school there (yet..) so the opinions of others may be different

Natalie,

If you like the co-op program, I suggest you also take a look at Northeastern university in Boston. Boston has many great opportunities and is full with many top companies.

Glad to hear your visit to Drexel went well. Goodluck to your college search!
