Hard to get into law school?

im looking into possible career paths and im conidering persuing the field of law. my question is if it is dificult to get into law school (not like harvard or yale just a regular one) from what ive seen the national avg is 56% of people allying go to law school (is this correct?) this seems awfully high...

Averaging all law schools is not a helpful way to look at it. You sound like your pretty young. I suggest you go visit US news best law school ranking and check the GPAs and LSAT ranges. Also type Top law school forum in a search

Getting into a regular law school isn't a particularly difficult task. For example your local state univ. is likely what you would be seeking? Should be no problem. Job market has been strong for several years and thus you likely would have no problem gaining admission.

It depends, If you're a good student and you prep for the LSAT then it is not incredibly hard to get into a law school. Here is some data from U.S. News's Ultimate guide to law schools. The least selective law school has a 25th-75th Percentile GPA range of 2.58-3.23 and an LSAT range of 144-149. I believe that if you are a good student and prep for the LSAT then you can get into a law school.

I agree with hazmat and Milton Roark that just getting into some * law school, *any law school isn't that hard. There are plenty of 4th tier law schools that aren't that hard to get into. Furthermore, there are also some unaccredited law schools (especially in California) that are fairly easy to get into. Some states (again, like California) do not actually require that you graduate from an accredited law school (or even any law school at all) in order to take the Bar.

Nevertheless, it should be pointed out that at even some of the top colleges, there are some students who have difficulty getting into even a low-tier law school. Take Berkeley for example, Some Berkeley prelaws apply to 4th tier law schools... and still get rejected. For example, of the 5 Berkeley prelaws who applied to the Western State University College of Law (which is not even a fully-accredited law school), 2 of them actually got rejected. Nor do I mean to single out Berkeley. Other top undergrad programs also have some prelaws who can't get into even the 4th tier law schools.
