I have always challenged myself in school, but have always gotten a B in AP math and science classes. I have taken AP classes ranging from Art History to Calculus. I am eager to learn everything and I love to challenge myself. My GPA dropped last year because I moved to a new high school my junior year, but as of now I have a 4.0 UW GPA this semester.

Not to be callous but…
Boston College - very small chance
Columbia - almost 0% chance (to put things in perspective, I have multiple friends who have been rejected with 2200s and ~4.0 gpas with similar rigor)

Santa Clara - I’d say you will probably be rejected, but you have a decent-ish shot.

WSU- almost 100% chance of being accepted
SPU- Pretty strong chance you’ll be accepted

Outside of that it is hard to diagnose your chances…
You being Hispanic should work in your favor for private schools, but I’m not sure to what degree it will help.

Trust me I know that Boston College and Columbia are a long shot haha. I only applied for fun. I don’t think ill get rejected from Santa Clara. I have higher stats than the average at their school but I thank you for your input. Good luck with your application process and I hope you get into the school of your dreams!

What statistics are you referring to for Santa Clara? I’m looking at the statistics straight from its website, and you appear to be below average in GPA, SAT, and ACT? Not that I don’t think you have a chance at Santa Clara though, I just think from a probability stand point it is less than 50%.
When it comes to admissions chances I’m a straight shooter, I’m not going to sugarcoat anything. I can’t stand the people on this forum who tell everyone that they’ll be accepted everywhere. You will get into plenty of the schools on your list though. Also, it is more what you do at your college than what college you end up going to.

I totally agree. I have heard that graduate schools are more important in the long run. When I looked at the College Board statistics my SAT score was in range and my ACT was 1 point below the midrange for Santa Clara. SC isn’t my top choice. I live near UW and my brother went their so hopefully I get accepted.

I would say your chances are around 50/50, being a URM helps.

Seems like a reasonable chance. To be nit picky, when people say that they have done a bunch of great looking volunteer work, it is quite common that those are one off events. I can’t speak for you; I only wrote down one volunteer experience, because I repeated it many times. I completely omitted one off events. Colleges generally could care less if you did something just one time, the UW is no exception. Beyond that, I would say that your GPA is decent, but you’re lacking in your test scores. If you applied to the CS/CE program, I would mark it as a reach (the case for many).

I was accepted…guess it wasn’t a reach!

Got into Santa Clara too.
