4.cara’s(constant)A improving race times demonstrated that her new training (regimen)B had been (more effective)C than even she(had hoped).(No error)E
the answer is A…shouldn’t it be C (more effectively) …why the answer is A??

PLZ…I NEED EXPLAINATIONS

  1. B is incorrect; either you copied something wrong or your book is wrong.
  2. A sounds very awkward.
  3. B is the answer. It is better to replace "about" with "that".
  4. A is the answer. It should read "constantly" (adverb modifying the word improving). C should not be "more effectively". Effectively is an adverb which has no place in that part of the sentence.

B must be “to investigate.” You’ve typed it wrong, I’m sure.

(A) says “the batter,” which refers to the batter in baseball, who can’t hit “in cricket.” It’s a modifier error.

It’s an idiom error; one doesn’t “refer about” something, one “refers to” something.

(A) must be “consistently” since it’s modifying the adjective “improving.” (C) can stay as an adjective b/c it’s modifying a linking verb (“to be”). You say “He is bad” not “he is badly,” after all.

I think OP inserted the (about) in the wrong place for #3, which makes my answer wrong and the above correct. I don’t really agree with the above explanation of #2 however.

@marvin100 thanks :slight_smile: but i have some questions !!

2. is it the answer related to parallel also ??

4. where is the linking verb in this sentence !!

@neno16 -

Yeah, it’s less parallel, but that’s not the most pressing problem.

tbh neno these questions are not “hard”…
