Hardest freshman class?

What do you guys think of as the hardest freshman class here at tufts?

I vote for honors calculus [math 17].

With Nitecki and the amount of homework and the elementary analysis, it's insane!!

this is just a random question, but with a 5 on AP Calc BC test will a freshmen be able to exempt 1 math class???

i'm not sure how the AP stuff works at tufts...

Chem 1 for sure :)

from what i've heard it's either Chem 1 or Bio 13. Math 12 and 13 are pretty hard too. PS-61 Intro IR is a lot of work, but not particularly hard in my opinion

Well, since I have both, Chem 01 and Math 17... I'd have to put my vote for Math 17 right now. It is a ton of homework... ton... and it's not really calculus as one normally thinks of the subject.. We are strictly doing proofs not repeitive problems and exercises.. However, i think this class will be most beneficial down the line. Chem 01 is more of a nuissance

Well our star professor for chem 1 left during the summer so what you have is a less powerful version of the once-premed-killing course.

As I've posted before, an alternative to Chem 1 and Chem 2 is the so called "honors" Chem track of Chem 11 and Chem 12. My son opted for these two classes as he's premed and a chem major. Though he got As in both, I remember him showing me the bell curved final grades for Chem 12, with 3 As, 7 Bs, 7 Cs and 3 Ds/Fs. :/
