So!
-I am an A & B student
-3.9 GPA weighted
-VERY involved at my school

BUT.... i did not even break 1000 on my SATS.. both times that i took them!
Im taking them again this october and have taken yet another class to help my score..
plus i am taking the act too.

i have very high hopes to get into great schools... nothing like ivy league or anything, just a more selective schools!
But they have high expectations and I am afraid because i dont exactly have my foot in the door!

Any advice of what to do?
Any suggestions for extra things i could do to help my chances?
thanks!

Google SAT optional schools, or look for them on CC. There are a lot of schools that don’t use the SATs, or allow other admissions paths if students prefer. Good luck!

Same here I’m scared and my weighted is a 4.8 … and you mean you didn’t break 1000 out of 1600 (me either) or 2400 ? If 2400 then that’s not really looking good at all.

i didnt break 1000 in the 1600.
with math and reading combined i got like a 900 something.

but i am taking the act this saturday and have been preparing for that too!
and ironically my top school is sat optional but then again there are still going to be alot of people who apply and will send their sat scores…im wondering if that means they have something over me even though it was optional?

Idk about that but I would figure that it might because they would probably assume the people that didn’t submit their scores didn’t do all that well. But if the schools is SAT optional then I doubt that it would make that much of a difference if you have other good credentials… just curious, what school is it ?

I second looking into SAT-optional colleges. The number of them is growing; many of them are very good schools.

If you’re a senior, you might want to get on this RIGHT AWAY. American University, for example, has a new no-SAT option that they seem very excited about, but the deadline is earlier than the regular deadline.
