The end surprised me and was really weird. Harry dies and comes back to life? Was that it? There'd be a riot if Harry died for good. Snape is good and was acting on Dumbledore's orders. Wow. Weird.

There is no evidence that Ron had any idea what he was saying too. He just said that he was impersonating Harry, so I would surmise that it is possible to teach parseltongue.

Albus Potter doesn't flow as well as Harry Potter though.

The epilogue had me all confused, with all the kids being named after adults and whatnot. I just finished the book and there was enough closure, I just didn't really feel it since I'm mostly just in disbelief that all 7 books are done. I miss it already :( But I'm definitely going to need to read it again

It was a good ending with plenty of closure. Rowling could not have ended the book any better really. The epilogue was necessary to end Harry's story.

You could always tell that Snape was good, in a way. He acted almost too blatantly evil to actually be. And plus, Harry was wrong about Snape, and you know that Harry is always wrong about everything. He can't figure anything out, needs everything spoonfed to him.

Some of it seemed predictable, even though I was shocked when I read that Dumbledore wanted Snape to kill him....and that Snape was actually a spy for Dumbledore.

I think there was too much going on in the last book. It was kinda hard to keep track of everything. Still, it was probably the best HP book of them all.

I don't think someone else could make a Harry Potter continuation. The book was so complex, it's groundwork was laid from the first page of the Sorcerer's Stone, everything was significant, and nothing was as it seemed. Rowling's creative imagination and writing style cannot be imitated.

Hopefully, someone can write another series of books that captures the hearts and minds of children and adults alike. But, I don't think anyone but Rowling could ever do justice to another Harry Potter.

Everything that has a beginning has an end, not even Rowling can continue writing about Harry Potter without it either sucking or undermining the significance of the original 7 books.

^agreed. I greatly enjoyed all of the Harry Potters, and while I really like the characters, i'm happy it's over.
I do wish she'd talked more about his parents, though.

Haha, all you kids discussing your silly children's book that in 50 years nobody will even remember! Why don't you guys spend your time reading real books?

because there's more to life than steinbeck.
...like swallowing your pride and admitting that you have a guilty pleasure, whether it be Harry Potter or w/e.

I'm kinda scared about the movie. the movie would need to be rated R if anything. Not to mentio the movie will need to be at least 3 hours long if they put in as minimal info as possible.
