really? well i read them in 6th grade so thats probably why i was interested in them. they are pretty interesting, but not to die for or anything. you should try the first one and see how you like it. you might find it immature now if you're 18 or somewhere around that age. whatever, just read the first one and see if you like it.

give a synopsis...

A mysterious letter, delivered by the friendly giant Hagrid, wrenches Harry from his dreary, Muggle-ridden existence: "We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." Of course, Uncle Vernon yells most unpleasantly, "I AM NOT PAYING FOR SOME CRACKPOT OLD FOOL TO TEACH HIM MAGIC TRICKS!" Soon enough, however, Harry finds himself at Hogwarts with his owl Hedwig... and that's where the real adventure--humorous, haunting, and suspenseful--begins.

Yeah, you definitely have to read them! At least get through book three, that's when it really begins to get interesting.

pre order buy.com it's cheaper than amazon

Yeah, I agree that Harry has every reason to be moody and angry at the world. He's got all the normal angst and difficulties of being 15 coupled with his incredibly difficult life. Of course he's going to lose it sometimes. How could he not?

Yeah.

..........couple more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Its kinda sad that after this theres only one more book to go :(

I mean HP is the book of our generation...

I know! I'm gonna cry when the 7th book comes out...

you are so messed up korey.

I love the fact that we live in a culture where "HP" automatically means "Harry Potter" and not "horsepower" or "Hewlett Packard" or something lol

My fondest memory spurred by Harry Potter was when we went to see the 1st movie on opening night downtown. When we got there, there was a group of protesters (each wih their 2-7 children) out front (you know the type, the true American Puritans. Can't have magic and wizardry, but we can make our own medicine out of lawn clippings and it cures everything ...).

After seeing the movie, the protesters were still there with their six foot signs and pickets along with a few cops to "keep the peace". On the other side of the sidewalk (and police), a college student who happened to be passing by with some school supplies made a sign on notebook paper with a sharpie and scotch-taped it to his shirt to protest the protesters.

mdhopeful, I find that hilarious. hahaha

Oh my.

o man. that's terrible and ridiculous at the same time.

seriously - there had to have been some major pre-existing psychological issues there...

 oh my...

that's horrible :(

This probably makes me an awful person, but my first reaction was "Is this a joke?"

That's truly horrible.
