harsh curves?

I show you an example…

mean 85.7, crazy!!

Well I hope you are content enough to make a decision on schools now. Im not sure if I could tolerate another thread like “How often do they mow the grass at UCLA” or “What type of brick do they use on Royce? Is it terracotta?!?!”

LHK… what class is that? looks kinda like my econ class

to hewhothrows:

econ 41

haha, the class i was thinking of. that better not be the final

Says Midterm II :P

My econ 41 midterm was similar to that. The thing with that kinda curve during the midterm is that the final will compensate for that by being much harder :P.

I’ve been in north campus classes of 100+ students where 0 people received As (some A minuses though), and in some where only 2-3 receive As. I’ve also been in classes where anything from an 89.0 to 89.9 is a B+, NOT an A-. So yes, grade deflation does exist. Does it bother me? Sometimes. But I’ve never regretted taking those classes, and 10 years from now, I won’t remember whether I got a B+, A- or A in them. I’ll just remember that it was a course worth taking, and that I learned something useful.

UCLA is like most places. What you put into it is what you’ll get out of it.

:l thanks rage, me no read good. Not to scare you, LHK, but we got the same midterm scores. we’re like twins now

lol, hewhothrows. by the way, how did your final exam go? I just finished 5mins before the final end, I didnt have time to check… But I think I did ok

LHK: lol, good enough to get an A in the class. The final’s distribution looks a lot more… normal

hew: yes, i just checked, I got an A too. Cheers!
