I currently attend a 4-year institution.
So Last semester I only had a 3.4. That was because I was abroad and was not putting my best foot forward academically. My overall GPA is about a 3.2~3. I did hold leadership positions in about 4 at school and spent a fair deal of my time volunteering. I didn't give any explanations for my grades i didn't think stating I was foolish was a good idea. I thought they would consider I have a C in a pre- calculus class and have a B in calc . (for midterm: I brought that C up from a D when I realized what I as doing. < I didn't write that either. I currently have a B in calc but can bring it up.) I've gotten all A's on the classes for my major.

At this point I am not very competitive to admissions. Then I have the essays.

One essay I actually submitted a per-revised copy I had labeled as "final." I took a very straight forward approach.I want a career in XXX. I want to major in XXXX while also studying XXXXX language and literature. They didn't offer XXX major though something close

So basically I have an essay with a grammatical error. Then I have that super straight forward approach directly answering all the question. No-fluff just a plain straight up answer. I really though this was a good idea since having too look at hundreds of essays it would save them time.

Would I have any chance at all?

I am not so sure about the "why do you want to go here essay" either. I'm trying to fix it up but it looks meek from a the writing perspective; I think the content is decent.
