Hartt Admissions--the saga continues

I got in today! I live in Kentucky, so understandably it took a bit longer than most. A regular letter came (the acceptance and talent award) and then a fat folder/envelope came w/ the Hartford admissions enrollment forms. Both documents came today.

PS. Still haven't been up to Hartford...tempted to schedule a last minute visit! I auditioned in Chicago.

My D still hasn't heard yet. It's the last school ---not much time left! It's probably not a good sign.

^ I'm in the same situation :(

If you do decide to go and visit Hartt, make sure you make some kind of specific appointment to see Hartt/meet with Hartt people and not just do like a campus tour, although you should do that too. I live in CT so I've visited a few times and the first two I just saw the campus and it did nothing for me, but I liked it so much better once I met the Hartt people. Just my experience, but, again, I'd highly recommend it.

How many applicants does Hartt see for MT? And how many do they accept?

I am scheduled to visit Hartt on Thursday of this week. We have left several messages at Hartt and no one has called us back yet. Right now we are scheduled for the campus tour. Do you have any suggestions or a phone number of someone that I can contact directly at Hartt?

Theaterboy - We are visiting Hartt on Tuesday and it took me about three tries to get someone from admissions who would coordinate a tour of the theatre dept. - Keep trying! Maybe you and my D can compare impressions later in the week. good luck.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will be visiting with you later in the week. We actually will not be home until Easter Sunday but we will visit then. Are you going to visit any other colleges this week. I am scheduled to visit Emerson on Friday.

Emailed the admissions office the other day in regards to the #s of students associated with the MT program at Hartt. Found out today that they accepted 68 out of 300 applicants this year. The university's admissions office tells the Hartt office how many they can accept... and they hope to receive 23-33 freshman. Said that in the past two years, they've admitted more than 100 applicants, and received about 50 freshman both times.

Hartt didn't offer me enough talent scholarship, so unfortunately, I have to cross it off my list. Sounds like a great program, though!

That's... a LOT better than 30. Still, why have so many yet to hear?

I got accepted to Hartt
