Hartt question

Wow, - my daughter was just notified that she is receiving the Performing Arts Scholarship at Hartt - worth $20,000 per year for 5 years.
She was pretty much settled on another school and we're waiting to hear about their scholarship but this might change things up a little bit. If nothing else, could we use this scholarship to bargain?

When we were at her Hartt audition, I remember hearing about a scholarship but figured she wasn't likely to get it as they said mostly their grad students received the scholarship.
If I recall correctly, there are more performance requirments and ensemble participations. Is this correct?

Never mind about the scholarship - I realized the Performing Arts scholarship is given in various amounts. It’s another scholarship that I was thinking about.

Congratulations on the scholarship! You are correct; Hartt offers a 20/20 Performance scholarship which does have specific requirements, but they also have a variety of other merit packages with no strings attached (oops - no pun intended!).

For D3, it was Hartt’s generous scholarship that tipped the scales. We tried using it to negotiate with another school, but had no luck.

Suzukimomto2, my son was a Performance 20/20 recipient (as an undergrad). At the point he received it, it was listed as a full tuition scholarship, but the website descriptive no longer refers to the covered amount. I’m assuming they may now have variable tiers.

If the 20/20 scholarship is the one you’re referring to, feel free to pm me for specifics.

For the record, all Hartt talent awards are termed Performing Arts Scholarships.
