Harvard 2018 Transfer Students Applicants

I hope decisions are out at 4 pm tomorrow even though pretty sure what it’s going to be.

@“FutureIbanker/hfmanager” I thought they are out at 5 pm

Yes I thought it would be at 5 pm too

Oh wow 12 spots and that includes sophomore and junior transfers, I’m assuming? I read an article somewhere that they hold a few spots dedicated for sports recruitment, is that true?

@RFrederic it seems so, although there is no official confirmation. I would say 25% spots are reserved for athletes and/or legacies.

It read that usually, they take 4 athletes and 8 academic transfers which include both soph/juniors.
Does anyone know what exactly are they looking for in transfer applicants? I don’t think they accept just based on grades or SAT bc they probably get like hundreds of applicants with 4.0 and perfect SAT/ACT and a lot of them have great EC’s. I was always curious to find out how they decide who they’ll accept since every Harvard applicant is an overachiever. I also read on previous year forum that some kids had like 3.5ish GPA and they got in so it’s definitely something very specific that they want.

@Futurelbanker/hfmanager their decision is definitely not based on grades. In fact, I would go as far as to say that Harvard is the Ivy league school that least bases decisions on GPA, SATs, and/or ACTs scores. I think what they seek the most is how a student uses their time outside of the classroom e.g. take advantage of extracurricular opportunities, overcome personal challenges, etc. (this is all my opinion)

@mdaly99 In that sense, I see myself having at least a shot bc I had a pretty challenging past that I overcame and some other hooks.

@Futurelbanker/hfmanager Same here. Best of luck!

@mdaly99 Good Luck

Good luck!! Sending positive vibes ~ haha

Hello, are decisions coming out today?

@krystalee possibly

For whatever reason, I have a feeling it will come out next Friday.

I think it will be today at 2:00 (5:00 eastern).

I hope you’re right. It would make sense with the past trends, but I just have a feeling.

You might be right too @younganddumb18 .

does anyone know when the decision was released last year?

It was released on May5th Friday 5pm eastern time

Did they receive notification of the date beforehand?
