yeah, I agree. it is just hard to believe that Harvard would do something like this that would announce their decisions prior to them actually announcing them. to be fair, they probably don’t anticipate students analyzing every detail, but let’s just wait for someone that was recently accepted to comment about what they are seeing on the portal
.
@Mommabear1 Does your daughter’s portal have the change. I hope it’s good news, but it most likely isn’t. Historical trends, and the sheer number of people getting the changes points to a wave of rejections.
just remember, our sample size is about ten. I of course don’t think it is likely that all of us are going to receive acceptances now… but we don’t have enough people to know exactly what this means. but hopefully @Mommabear1 can shed some light on this.
@fintech0901 They’ve done this portal change thing for the past two years. I’v only seen of one person get in without a call, and with this portal change. I think it was somebody in the second wave of 2022. I maybe be wrong on the wave, but this was definitely the only case in which it happen. I’m just waiting for someone who was admitted to let us know what their portal looks like.
Any guesses on what time Harvard will notify us today?
@hockey731 I know about the calls, but are you saying that the people that get accepted do not have this portal change?
I called H and they said that this is neither indicative of admission or rejection, rather that they are updating the website. Not sure what that means; they might be hiding something as usual
@1Phish I don’t think they’d tell us that it was indicative of a rejection even if it was, but based on past years, this will be a rejection wave and we’ll get our official update around 7
@1Phish I went through the 2023 waitlist thread, and 'm pretty sure they said the same thing to somebody who called last year, and then they released some decisions anyways the same day. Take that as you will.
@fintech0901 No I’m saying that people who get calls also have this portal change, but it’s for their official acceptance update. For people who didn’t get a call, and also have the change, it usually a rejection, except for the case of that one user who got an acceptance without the call days before the portal change.
@gogw1234 That’s most likely what’s going to happen. Does anyone on here not have the update? It seems like everybody does.
My daughter’s portal is still showing “waiting list” status.
@hockey731 I do not have the update. I still have the waitlist tab on my applicant portal. I’ll be sure to update you guys soon if I hear anything!

According to the NYU waitlist thread, when things start disappearing on the Portal, it means it’s getting ready to display an update. H might be different but it seems like something is happening today.
Well considering a few people still have the tab, I think it might be safe to assume it will be rejections today. This is what happens every year, and I highly doubt this year will be any different.
this is just a weird year guys… let’s wait for news before assuming for better or for worse.
Tab disappeared :///
I agree, its really hard to predict what will happen, let’s just wait and see
My son’s Harvard portal shows no changes right now - it still lists his Waitlist status as confirmed and it still allows him to upload waitlist materials.
He was accepted to Columbia yesterday off their waitlist so I would expect that Harvard will also be releasing some decisions today (both acceptances and waitlist denials and keeping the majority of waitlist applicants still in limbo)
Good luck all!
