So what percentage of people do we think were rejected? How many remain?
rejected
to all my fellow Harvard waitlistees that were “officially released” today, i just wanted to say that each and every one of you are bound to reach great heights. if harvard couldn’t accommodate you, that doesn’t make your worth or achievements any less amazing than they are. we have all gotten this far and we’re recognized by a societally-claimed “reputable” institution, so take that as you will, but remember that everything you accomplish will not be due to what school you go to but by your ability and dedication to your craft instead. all of you have been extremely informative and kind, and i feel like there has been so much comradery betwixt every one of you during this trying ordeal that i am positive that you’re all due for amazing friendships and experiences in the future
Rumor has it that the release tonight may be another glitch
Rejected
I got the email asking me to be patient as well. To all who received rejections, please know that you will do amazing things wherever you end up. It’s Harvard’s loss
@1Phish I wish. Rejected as well.
Just made this to add some data, also rejected today at 7:30 Good luck everyone and I get what ur feeling rn.
When you realize that for the past 4 years you worked your ass off and placed your own personal worth on where you get into college, and then you realize that the college admissions system is broken and that you’ve been playing this lottery at the cost of your own health and comfort.
Who’s the clown? Me. I am.
But jokes (me, I’m the joke) aside, before I peace out from this thread, I want to thank all of you for being positive, encouraging, and supportive, and know all of you are wonderfully talented people who will do well in life, so heads up. This is unfair, but we’re in this together, and I hope y’all continue being the smartasses that you are and do great things. Being waitlisted is quite the achievement and is testament to how much you will excel in your future. Also lmao, you bet I’m adding “Harvard Waitlist Class of 2024” to my resume and my gravestone (rip me).
Good luck, spirits up, and change the world!
You shouldn’t base your self worth on this process… I did the exact same thing though. It’s hard to understand rejection after spending years trying to make yourself into this “perfect resume”. I was rejected from many of the schools I applied to. We can’t base our self worth on a blind admissions team that will never see how unique and interesting we each are. I wish you the best of luck, and I hope we can all find something positive from this
Rejected.
International rejected. I just created this account but I’ve been following this thread for a long time. I just want to let you guys know that I personally feel flattered to even be put on the waitlist, and I think you all should feel the same way. Remember, Harvard is one of, if not the best college in the world! We are considered to be among the best of the best. If you really think about it, we are all blessed to be able to get stressed and be disappointed – many people don’t even apply to colleges, let alone Harvard.
International rejection.
Good luck to all those still waiting.
Thank you everyone for taking the time to update us on everything.
What does this mean for people who weren’t rejected? Does this just mean that they haven’t gotten to our region yet?
I have the impression that the odds of admission in the second or third wave off the wait list must be incredibly low, no? I wonder if it may depend on students still deciding to apply for a gap year or international students who still don’t know whether they can travel to the US in the Fall. Thoughts?
By the way, does anybody know what is the deadline for gap year applications?
I think that if you got the waitlist update email that H sent out yesterday, then you’re still in the running. Based on last year’s thread, I’m also predicting that another wave of decisions will come out next week (tues/wed).
For reference, I got that email (i’m from AZ if we are thinking it’s by region)
I just wanna know when or if they’re gonna release the yield info.
Rejected as expected, and going to my safety safety school. This year has been a wild ride, and I hope it’s going well for some people, but I know that many have it worse than I do. I congratulate all those accepted and all those not, as this is just a stepping stone in our lives, and not the whole deal.
@20HAS are you planning on going?
Do you think we’ll have to wait the typical two weeks for another wave?
