For those of you sending updates with awards, are you just writing a sentence or two explaining the award you received or are you writing a full on new letter?
If you’re updating with awards I think a paragraph will suffice.
Also, are we expecting a wave tomorrow, or do we think calls will be made throughout the week?
Does anyone know the deadline for gap year requests for incoming freshman?
Are we expecting a wave this week?
@visreedhar - sure hoping for one! No email, calls or portal changes yet - CA! I think it would be great if we could all keep one another posted today…
@Mommabear1 - Nothing here! From KS.
@waitlistgirl123 - thank you for the update. Nothing for us here in CA. Wondering if there was a wave today. Did anyone hear anything???
Nothing here - France
Nothing here- Southern CA
A bunch of people got off Stanford waitlist today. Good sign for us I think. If stanford is taking kids off today (I saw this on A2C), Harvard will likely do something soon/ it shows HYPSM still looking to fill seats. Plus, stem admits from harvard who maybe got off stanford waitlist will likely choose stanford.
I asked a friend who got in RD and she says that the deadline to request a gap year is July 1st :(((
But the Stanford news seems promising!!
Nothing here - NY
Applicant from norcal, no news
Nothing here in Ontario, Canada.
@9ptempel1 thanks! If that’s the case, im not expecting much until after July 1st.
Nothing here either! If I’ve received a housing assignment from my school, will I be fined if I‘m fortunate enough to get a call from Harvard? I’m scared they’re going to wait so long I’ll be stuck at my second choice for financial reasons
Keep in mind Harvard MBA came out a few weeks ago and said they had a full class then after going online and deferring students announce a class smaller by 25% even after taking from the waitlist.
@strawbri13 if you get a call from harvard and you get better financial aid than your current school I think it’s worth it. If there’s a housing fine/penalty from your current school it’s probably outweighed by the money you’ll save going to harvard
@strawbri13 I know when I filled out the housing form for my current school, they said that there is a monetary fee if I don’t attend in the end but I doubt it’s a super high amount. As long as H calls before you pay tuition and fees to your current school, you should be fine.
Are we expecting rejections tomorrow?
I think so? I was snooping on the harvard 2024 Facebook group and it says that three new people joined in the past week. I checked maybe 2-3 days ago and it said 0 new people beforehand, so I’m assuming people got calls in the past few days
