Harvard alumni interview for int'l applicants

Hi all

I’m an international RD applicant to Harvard applying from a country classified as a ‘country with limited interviews’ - meaning that there are not many alumni to interview applicants here.

I read from several other threads that no interview for international applicants practically means rejection. Would that be true for ‘countries with limited interviews’ too?

This is what Harvard says:

What we don’t know is if there is an interviewer that is “sufficiently close to you.” But my guess is in the age of Skype, if Harvard wants to interview you, it will. And on the flip side, if they do not offer you an interview, they are not considering you, IMO.
