So i was going through the class of 2013 acceptances for harvard and i noticed that most accepted applicants had SAT I scores to report and not ACT scores.

do people who take sat I have better chances? or is it just coincidental that people with sat scores happen to get in?

any insight from harvard students who have submitted act scores and not sat I scores?

Probably coincidental. The ACT is more popular in the Mid-West than on either coast. The largest numbers of students at Harvard come from the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic states, then CA and then TX.

My daughter was accepted her SAT was only 2080 but her ACT was 35. I am confident that when Harvard was considering that part of her application that it was the ACT score that was utilized.

I know that while D was applying to schools. I came to CC for advice on the value of her ACT scores and reservations were expressed since she was an applicant from the Northeast (usual SAT territory).
