You need to get a job as a lawyer first, preferably with a very reputable law firm in India. After 3-4 years, then you apply to business schools and you need to write a very convincing essay on why you need an MBA.
Sir, With law I am also doing Chartered Accountant in India. Is there a need that I need to get a job in a law firm.
Actually I am doing Chartered Accountant because I heard McKinsey Financial Analyst have maximum chances to get into HBS.
All top US business schools require a MINIMUM of two years full time professional experience after getting your first degree. It need not be a job in law.
Sir, what extra should I do to to make my application stand out of all the others
Have great accomplishments on you first professional job.
Sir, I am asking about extracurricular activities in school.
Graduate business schools admissions is very different from undergraduate admissions. They don’t stress what you have done in school, the stress is on what you have accomplished after graduation. You need to show good job progression, outstanding achievements in your job or your community.
In addition, why would you need an MBA since you will have a law degree plus chartered accountant. Schools look negatively on people trying to accumulate academic credentials. The end game is to get a job, not more credentials.
