Harvard but No Subject Tests

Hi. I’m an international student from India. I have not taken any subject tests but I want to apply to Harvard. Is it possible to get in without Subject Tests or should I give up now?
All Advice Welcome.

Read what is required to apply and be considered. Read what is recommended. If it’s required then give up now. If it’s not then apply.

Check the Harvard web page. Sometimes requirements can be different for international students.

Edit to add: Applicants to a university such as Harvard should, at a bare minimum, be resourceful enough to be able to come up with a list of what is needed for a complete application package.

@abhinaya1299 Harvard states that they recommend two subject test scores unless there is a financial hardship. That language is for all applicants. Harvard’s language could have stated that they - require two subject test scores unless there is a financial hardship but they wrote recommend instead. If you’re asking this question because you are considering applying for RD in the next month and you haven’t taken a subject test then it’s your decision if applying without the subject test is a chance worth taking. Nothing can be done about the subject tests now for a fall 2020 admission.

The well-qualified international applicant has a 2% chance of acceptance. You can certainly apply, but you should assume that most successful applicants will have submitted Subject Tests.

Your chances may also depend on what else you have to offer.

My decision to apply to ivies was rather hasty. I’m only applying on the off chance I get in. The others that I’m applying to do not require the subject test, so I didn’t bother taking them. I did take the ACT and got a 34. Gonna retake it in Feb.

Are you applying to schools this cycle? If so, don’t bother retaking the ACT as it will be too late to be considered.

If you aren’t applying until next cycle, then you have time to take subject tests.

I am applying this cycle. Also, I am retaking the ACT in February as Yale, Columbia and Harvard accept it. My current score is 34.

Ummm… according to your earlier post you have a 1570 in SAT, 35 in ACT and have taken 6 SAT subject tests, all with 800 or near-800 scores.

That’s the problem of fibbing … you have to remember all your earlier lies
