I’m applying to harvard without submitting any sat subject tests, will this hurt my application?
@edcv99 - Harvard strongly recommends 2 SAT subject tests. I think people have gotten in without it, probably because rest of their app was significantly superior.
@MedSciBud: ^^ That’s incorrect. Please see: https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/apply/application-process/sat-subject-tests
Thank you @gibby. I equated “normally require” to “strongly recommended” and “if you prefer to be considered without them” to “rest of your application is probably superior”.
When we visited Harvard in October, the tone of the AO who did the admission session for SAT subjects was very light. My impression after the visit is that, SAT subjects are not that important.
@edcv99 If I were you I would just call the admissions office tomorrow. I did it for a few of my schools regarding standardized testing and they were incredibly helpful and nice.
I don’t think so. I’m applying without them, and my friend got in with a 33 ACT and no subject test scores.
Hi @ap012199, does your friend who got in had any financial hardship not to take SAT subject, or it was a personal choice?
If you’re international they are important… Says somewhere on their website that an international is unlikely to be admitted based on SAT 1 or ACT alone.
