that theatre is reeealllly nice. how is the performing arts at harvard?

oh i worship you Admiral...it would be amazing if i could use the books there..

If you attend prefrosh, you'll get a temporary ID for the weekend... you could try to use that over the summer to get a friendly guard to let you into the libraries. Widener is pretty strict, Lamont a little less so. You shouldn't have any problem getting into Cabot (in the Science Center) or some of the smaller/random libraries (like the ones in Biolabs/William James Hall/Peabody/etc). Since you'll have a PIN, you can definitely use the e-resources/journals.

Unfortunately, as I have mentioned before, I am a junior :(

Sorry for not reading!

No worries :D

"You can get signed in as a guest if you know a Harvard student. "

I knew someone who met her husband that way. She was visiting Boston, and wanted to use Harvard's libraries so asked a random student to sign her in. He did, and they eventually got married. He eventually became a millionaire and was on the Board of Harvard Overseers. Unfortunately, they were divorced by then.

Hmm, intrigue with a slight dose or romance..
By the way, do I need to pay in order to get signed in, and how much if you happen to know the fee..?

If you want to be on a campus that's separated a bit from the city and looks down on a city and has an especially lovely night view of a city, go to Brown.

I thought Thayer St was the city :)

The Harvard campus is, I'd say, one of the best things Harvard has going for it. It's gorgeous, and the mix of architecture really grows on you. Buildings like Annenberg (strictly speaking, Memorial Hall), and Widener Library, are amazing. If Harvard only had Cambridge, and no Boston, I suspect that would be enough.

Why only Cambridge? How is Boston exactly, and is it easy to go from Boston to Harvard using say the bus?

Boston's wonderful, and you just hop on the "T' (subway) - downtown Boston is about a 10 minute ride.

Ah, thank you meredithv. I am so bad with distances and googlearth does not really help that much..

It can also be one of the most beautiful "subway" rides you will ever take, since it crosses over the Charles River, with wonderful views of the Boston skyline.

(Sob, excuse me while I wallow in nostalgia.)
