If your essay is really well-written, I say you have a fair chance.

Have you looked into QuestBridge? It’s a program that helps pay for/admit underprivileged students into top colleges.

Your list of ECs is really extensive - just make sure there are at least a couple that you have a lot of passion for and have done a lot with.

On another note, how did you get that 5 on AP Chem? I’m freaking out about testing in that in two weeks.

(: Hope that helped!

Oh, and parchment.com is a good resource that predicts college chances electronically.

Thank you for the reply. Also, I just pay attention and I didn’t even study. When I study I find that I do worse for some reason. Just pay attention and pray you get a good teacher :).

I say you have a pretty good chance considering that you’re URM and have high grades. Your ECs are wonderful. What is your rank tho?

Chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1504593-ive-been-working-8-16h-week-8-years-how-good-harvard.html

Just write good essays and you have a good chance

Thank you everyone. I think I’m going to retake the SATs though :)

good chance generally but Harvard is a massive crapshoot

Nice list, but unless you taught SAT prep, it’s really not an EC at all.

i’d said a fair chance, depending on essays though! Maintain your grades/up your SATs and there’s definitely a fighting chance :)

Thanks  I’ll make sure to cross that off of my list. Also, I am having issues with my essay since I am not the strongest writer.

Should I retake SATs?

If you think you can do better on the SAT than the 2100, then you definitely should! I would recommend taking some practice tests and seeing what your projected scored will be.

As for your essays, figure out the generic essay prompts (I know Commonapp already has the prompts for next year published) early and write the essays ASAP. Then you can find a teacher or adult friend who you trust and think has good writing skills and work on polishing your essays with them. The more people you have read your essays, the more feedback and criticism you can get!

Thank you so much :)) ! Yes , I believe I can do better. I will practice. Seriously , going to Harvard will be a dream for a Hispanic girl who went from almost living in a shelter to going to such a perfect university :).

I think you have a great chance of getting in if you work hard on your essays and improve your test scores! Are you also a first generation university student?

Also, as I mentioned before, I think you really should look into QuestBridge. [QuestBridge Home](http://www.questbridge.org/) They offer full ride scholarships to schools like Harvard and Stanford for students like you (low-income who have overcome huge obstacles).

Best of luck on your applications, and I"m kind of nervous since I’ll be applying to Harvard too and I don’t have any hooks and I’m not half as impressive as you are. (:

Thank you very much. I’ll check it out :).

Why are “drawing” and “painting” in your ECs? Fair chance tho. Good Luck! :)

Thanks :). Drawing and painting are in my extracurriculars because I was involved in drawing and painting clubs. I just didn’t write it all out haha.

Your gym average will hold you back.

My gym average is because I’m limited to activities since I have asthma. My gym teacher just doesn’t understand. She’s too strict.

t’was a joke :p
