Harvard Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Take this as a good sign. If they weren’t interested in you, they wouldn’t be asking. But you have to give them your mid-year transcript, if they ask, or just give up on getting in.

Read nothing into it. They are giving a courtesy heads-up to everyone missing required elements. And the midyear is required. One cannot expect a positive decision with an application missing required elements.

I got one early January, but I think they are still going on.

I was invited to respond ASAP to convey my availability to an interviewer, and I did, but haven’t heard back for a couple weeks. Not sure whether to send another response or sit tight.

@Christy2k3 don’t stress about those B+'s . And yes, of course, the transcript is missing from your file and they just want your application to be complete.

Call admissions and let them know.

Guys, can you please chance me. I probably have the weakest application ever :disappointed:

I’m an international student studying the A-Level curriculum.
→ I have a 4.0/4.0 UW GPA
→ I come #35 out of 950 students at my high school
→ Have taken the SAT twice got a 1220 then a 1360. Both scores are terrible. The second score was heavily impacted due to Covid. Please let me know If I should submit these or not. (only submitted to UofMiami and Fordham)
→ Predicted 3A* at A-Level (Mathematics, Econ, Business)
→ Wasn’t allowed to partake in extracurriculars due to some reasons but tries my best to pursue those things which I’m interested in. I know they are extremely unorthodox and probably have no weightage in the eyes of the admissions officers.

  1. Started my own Charity (Unofficial- Doesn’t have a name and isn’t registered yet)
  2. Became a self-taught forex and stocks trader and also teach trading- to help my father financially and to pay for the charity.
  3. took care of my grandparents on a regular basis.
  4. tutored my younger cousin
  5. was the captain of 3 business competitions
  6. Am an unofficial fitness trainer and nutritionist
  7. Am a micro Instagram influencer- make my own content/earn some money too.
  8. Miscellaneous activities/hobbies- participated in a couple of badminton tournaments at my club, frequently paint/draw, etc
→ I also faced certain extenuating circumstances because of which I got mediocre O-Level results and because of which I was also not allowed to participate in ECAs.
    → Will require financial aid

@skieurope Deferred from EA, not sure but I might have asked this before so upload the LOCI letter on 1/23/21 under Misc. And never received interview at all. Just wondering if they even looked at it at all. Would they only see this letter if they are interested and going to review my file again, or they are not going to look at the LOCI at all. As got all of the reach interviews except Harvard. So feel like deferring so many applications might not have looked at my file at all. Does that happen at all. Again Thank you for all your help. Is that the right way to upload the LOCI into the portal. Do you think we need to send an email and send the LOCI again so they can look at it.

If you uploaded in January, they looked at it. No need to resend.

To be honest, in my humble opinion, your chance is very small while everyone’s chance is small.

I guess so. Thanks for replying though. I think at this level no matter what ones GPA is its pretty random.

I need advice regarding my AO’s contact. I know a Harvard student who got in from my city who was was kind enough to share our AO’s contact with me. It was confirmed that she’s still our region’s AO after I called the Office and confirmed.

My question is, would it be appropriate to email her with a small reminder/thank you once I upload my LOCI in a few days? Or would that be too pushy, or perhaps, a bit inappropriate? The last thing I want is to be stepping on AOs’ toes…

I think it would be inappropriate and pushy. But, it is ultimately up to you.

No.

Send an email to the general address if you want (which I would not personally do).

If Harvard wanted you to know your AOs name, they would have published it.

Do you mind sharing why you think it’s a “no?”

The directions are that updates are made to the portal. An email that you have uploaded something is superfluous and, IMO, shows a disregard for the AOs time; they know where to find updates.

I had same question. Spoke with AO they said another interview will not be scheduled, however, if you provided supplemental information after REA deferral they may follow-up though do not expect it with volume this year.

I agree with your assessment. But just curious about how it works inside the admission offices. Does the AO receive an internal email reminder once the portal is updated? Otherwise how do they keep track of thousands of applications on who made the update and when?

I sent a hand written thank you card
