Just checking…do you all have Financial aid button on your portal? I don’t have it and I didn’t apply. But I am assuming everyone should have it whether you apply for it or not. I may be wrong though.

Harvard likely letters are out. I heard some URM students got them.

whats this?

Very very few get likely letters. Don’t worry about it.

that’s cool! I think this year they are trying to increase the number of URM students

I think all colleges are claiming they are trying to increase admission to URM applicants, which is politically right.

They have been trying to increase diversity (including socioeconomic diversity, through financial aid) for years.

Are these letters sent via email or postal mail?

Do AOs actually read personal updates that are uploaded to the portal?

Make sure that the update you provide is materially significant, whatever that means in your own context. You can’t control what they actually do with the updates though.

I assume that once an application package was reviewed (nobody knows when), it either moves to the next step or put into the back-burner.

If extra document can reach the package before such reviewing is conduct, it is useful to add. Or I bet AO won’t pick it up from the back-burner again because of a new added document. Just my best guess.

i haven’t been contacted for an interview, at this point i don’t think i’ll get one.

I feel you. I got a Harvard Interview back in November for Restrictive Early Action. Deferred. Received one for Princeton, but nothing from Columbia or Yale.

you are not alone - daughter hasn’t been contacted either.

Did you apply EA/ED for Princeton, Columbia, Yale, in addition to a REA to Harvard?

One can only apply to one early, which in this case was Harvard. Princeton only has RD this year.

Harvard is my top choice, so I decided to apply there REA. The other schools mentioned, I applied RD, a few of them I did over winter break after being deferred.

Hey y’all! So I recently had second author research published and I’m going to have first-author research published within the next two weeks or so, and I was wondering if I should send these in as updates to my application. I was deferred EA and sent in originally two research abstracts, and then after being deferred i sent in a recently published science poster as an update and notice of an award. I don’t want to overwhelm my AO tho w too many additional academic materials, so let me know if you think I should send it in.

Definitely update the publication, if it was in a peer reviewed national journal, assuming you didn’t tell them earlier about it. If it was in a high school level journal, not sure of the impact.
