I did think about that, but I just received the publication date and link this morning from the Editor, so would admissions officers still be annoyed even though this update is as soon as possible?
They won’t be annoyed. They likely will just do nothing with it.
Is it a peer-reviewed journal? Are you one of the first names on the paper? Was it in your relative’s lab?
If it really is that you got your paper, your own work, accepted for publication in a leading, peer-reviewed journal, then I don’t think it could hurt to send it. If you are still under consideration, it might help. They’re certainly not going to take you from the accepted pile, and reject you! It might not move you from the rejected pile to the “take another look” pile. But what have you got to lose?
Yes, it is a peer reviewed journal, second author, and not a relative’s lab.
I think I might take your advice and submit the update, thank you for the advice!
I would submit as well. Good luck!
Does anyone know/ is anyone here an international student who was accepted early action without an SAT/ACT?
This morning I woke up to an extremely slow internet and jumped out of bed after seeing these since people usually don’t get a rejection in an early status update. But then it was all gone after the page reloaded properly. So this is probably not indication of anything. But just to make sure, does everyone else also get these?
the second link is not what my portal looks like. did you try clicking on the status update
It indicates nothing.
Just curious, how many people see March 31 under Important Dates vs. April 6. Also, were you deferred or RD?
My hypothesis is that the date differences might simply indicate whether or not they have made a decision, not whether or not you got in/rejected. However, if all deferred applicants see April 6, it might not have to do with a decision at all.
Good luck to everybody!!!
I was deferred and see March 31…
My son applied to RD.
Interesting. Mine changed to the 6th this week and I also got a notification on the site saying I had a new decision (though I was just reminded of my deferral upon clicking on it). I’m curious as to what the explanation to the date differences is since clearly its not an EA/RD thing.
I’m the exact same, I was defered early action and mine changed to April 6th recently, plus when I go on I get the deferral status update. I think they are probs just updating the portal to get things ready for decision day, doubt it’s any indication one way or another
Agreed. Thanks for the info!
It’s probably a difference between EA and RD. I’m RD and mine says late march
Hopefully my AOs were in a good mood when reading my application. My chances of getting in are pretty low after being rejected by UC Berkeley, UCLA, and WashU. I really need a miracle right now.
i got rejected by ucla and ucb too loll, it’s not looking hopeful :((
