Harvard Countdown!

4 days!!!!!!!!

Will the torment never end?!?!

do you receive the email around 5 pm? or can it be as late as 11 pm?

Honestly it's not exactly @ 5 or even closely after for most people. I remember in EA waiting a good hour or so after 5 to get it... possibly an hour and a half. But the point is, you will most likely receive it on the 30th. If you go on the site, you MUST keep in mind that they expect 2% of their e-mails will be undeliverable due to technical reasons (like your spam filters, etc..). So get that all checked out before the 30th!! Good luck! ;) :) :D

i heard that for EA they did decisions in a certain order (ie admits first, then deferrees, then rejects). Does anyone know if that is true or if they may do a similar thing for regular decision (omitting the deferrees of course)?

Hmmm... it seems like that's possible. I remember the EA decision thread following a similar flow. Only those that were accepted started posting their stats first... then it took a while before I saw any deferred stats (and then I got my e-mail), and then there was one kid who was rejected. It's definitely possible, but I have no way of being 100% sure. Haha, in any case, just be happy that it's only in a few days and not a month from now! ;) Good luck!

It could also be psychological.

Let's face it, if you're deferred or rejected, you're not about to shout it out to the rest of the world as quickly.

sigh I have to wait till the morning on the 31st to see the e-mail I think (due to time zones. I'm in Europe ;)) Or get up in the middle of the night. Mut I think I will handle the rejection better in the morning.

Astrid_pl, same story here :)

I think I can even summon enough will to wait till Friday evening, then check the decisions and go get drunk (either because I'm in or not :). joking

Haha, sounds like a plan. Except I'm babysitting 5 cousins on Friday, so it's probably not such a good idea after all.

Ooo, this is hard :)

Perhaps, you can wait till Saturday evening. What say you?

Maybe I should read it in the morning and then drink the 5 dl of ABSOLUT I have hidden behind my desk (no kidding) before I go to school. I only have French and Norwegian on Fridays anyway, so I doubt anybody would notice :)

'ello ev'ryonn, ai emm Frrrench and ai ztink! :D

Hm... never enjoyed getting drunk with vodka. Too quickly :)

"so I doubt anybody would notice" - just don't breathe towards anyone!

I and my friends are thinking of stopping on a bottle o' good red wine.

Man, I have the Science Olympiad state competition on Saturday, so I'll have to time it so the hangover doesn't last past Friday morning.

Aa.... I suggest they postpone the Olympiad :D

I had my National right before MIT decisions... that was one hell of a contrast between moods... First Prize and Rejection
I guess Harvard can more than make up for that. :)

...and the saddest part is that my nickname is NO MORE RELEVANT!

MIT-rejection sucks :( But look at it this way, the 7-year old daughter of the only MIT-graduate I know beat me at scrabble last time i was her babysitter. (The sad part is I'm not even kidding. Granted, I didn't count the double and triple points for me, and her spelling was sometimes a little off, but still)

As for the vodka: my point exactly. I usually prefer wine or champagne (High maintenance? me? :D), but I am NOT getting up extra early to be miserable, so I figured I'll get drunk on the bus to school. This means i'll have less time to do it, hence the vodka solution.

LOL! So pragmatic :)

btw, did MIT accept you?

Who, me? I never applied. Wanna PM me your stats?

sure! (chars chars chars)
