Hey guys, I've just seen someone posting a sort of statistic on yale's EA this last year. Like you know... how many ppl from country xy applied EA to yale, yada yada... I was wondering whether there is such a statistic about harvard EA???

I think harvard ea's always been between 16-19%, and its regular decision varies around 10%. It's really not that worthwhile applying harvard ea UNLESS you are 99% sure that you meet the exceedingly outstanding qualifications. A friend of mine from NJ for instance got in harvard ea 'easily', but he's among a different class of people.

I suggest that if you want to apply for an ivy ed/ea, take a look at cornell and Upenn. Cornell has a "43%" (im serious) ed acceptance rate, while upenn has a 34% acceptance rate. Both are excellent ivies to go to for sure.

it depends on your major, Cornell certainly isnt the least prestigious ivy for engineering! and cornell has much more international prestige than dartmouth or brown.
Btw, princeton has an ED admit rate of 32% but admit rates dont matter at all

Some corrections: Penn had a 28% ED acceptance rate overall this year, and only 18% ED acceptance rate for all internationals (including those not applying for financial aid). Yeah, The Ivies are a crapshoot.

Also, Cornell is the better in the Ivy for Engineering (best :D), Hotel and Sciences.

btw do you guys realise Cornell gets 28,000 applicants and thus, rejects 22000 applicants...
Therefore, Cornell rejects more applicants thean what 6 other Ivies even recieve. The large acceptance rate is due to a class size of 3000 (almost 3 times Princeton's)!!!...and over 150 courses on offer.

Lastly, this year no student was taken of the waitlist, meaning the yield was pretty high.

You could either do a Forum Search at the College forum you wish...(eg...Enter "2010 acceptance in Cornell forum search and choose the result)
Or each College would have released these statistics...they're availabla as pdf downloads.

And yes, I agree with your atatement...Cornell and also UPenn are very stingy when it comes to int'l aid.

i thought upenn was one of the most generous to internationals . i know its not need blind like harvard or princeton, but according to some stats upenn i've read it gives more aid to intels than cornell...

No...its clearly written on the Cornell site that 65 aid packages and 15 scholarships are given each year to int'ls.
And what do u mean Ivies don't give scholarships!!!
P'ton ONLY gives scholarships...no loans.
