Harvard Interview as an International student

I am applying to Harvard RD as a student from Germany and am slightly confused with respect to the interview process. As far as I understood, the admissions office contacts me in case they want to offer me an interview, but I have also seen websites which suggest I reach out to my local Harvard club to request an interview. Which one of the two is correct?

The former. They contact you.

In the past, Pre-Covid, in a small number of countries (which never included Germany), the applicant would contact the local alumni office. That was eliminated during the pandemic and has not been reinstated.

Thanks a lot! How do I find out?
I find it incredibly hard to find any information about Germany and the admissions process.

Again, Germany has always been a country where the interviewer contacts you. Regardless, per Harvard: “It is not possible to request an interview.”
