We'll see what happens. Today is March 28. In three days, we will know.

Ah !

Both departments are connected...they work in the same building (8 Byerly) and they most likely exchange info. I would say that the princeton wannabe is probably correct...FinAid Emails this late in the game are probably significant. Now I may be biased because I got one but who knows. Im sure its not thaat big of a deal.

well, here is something i haven't told you guys about...
when i emailed to ask about the correlation between fin aid and admissions and made the assumption that fin aid emails indicate that the applicant is doing well in the admissions process... the guy TOTALLY ignored my one paragraph question and assumption... i take that as an "yes" to my question..

and i also know that the regional admissions officer is often the same person as the regional fin aid officer. at least for my region...

for those of you who didn't get the emails.. DON'T WORRY.. IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT YOUR FIN AID IS COMPLETE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and the emails were sent the day that they finished admissions (march 21st) and then 2 days later with a more personalized email (march 23rd).... since they already finished admissions..... makes you think eh?...

what do you mean by "personalized?"

and seriously guys.. i think by now, there should be no doubt there is a lot of bs that the admissions office try to cover up... but whatever....

princeton -
as in it started with

Dear "my name"

blah blah

then gives me a list of stuff im missing... (including asking for my dad's business tax returns and stating it by name...)

It was dated March 23rd. And Harvard finished decisions on the 21st... so im praying its good news.

And it told me to send in or fax everything with that cover letter and label it "Financial Applicant 2009" to Chris Plumb... and gave me an address and fax number and phone number and all.

oh yeah. i got that one too. but i think a bit earlier...

princeton - maybe because your international.. they decide on internationals earlier?

So, I just called the FA office because I had received an email and was pretty sure I had completed everything. According to their computer, I had submitted everything and it was processed on the 18th, three days before the email. The woman who helped me said that the non-personalized email is usually sent to students who are already enrolled and that it was probably a fluke.

uhh just called FAO and they said I have everything in. So, hopefully that explains lack of letters from the 13th.

how about the personalized one.. send on the 23rd?...

I didn't receive a personalized one. She said that the non-personalized ones are usually for incoming students.

incoming students?

I assume she meant students who have already enrolled.

I had a personalized one on the 13th, and then nothing since, but FAO said all of my required mat'ls were in.

kates...that doesnt sound very true. What was the conversation with this FA like? I find it hard to believe that they would divulge so much information so candidly...explain

They could've been in the midst of processing your files.

They didn't divulge anything... I just asked if all of my required materials were in for processing my app, or if I had something missing. The woman on the phone just said that all of the forms were in.

ohhh sorry kates, that message was for lazy bum...
