Harvard or MIT? (BME/pre-med)

Hi everyone,

I was fortunate enough to have been admitted to both MIT and Harvard, but now I have a difficult choice to make. I know that I will be majoring in biomedical engineering, and I also know that I will complete pre-med classes at either school. I am nearly 100% certain that I will be attending medical school, and looking ahead, Harvard medical school would be on that list, along with several others. However, I know that MIT provides the best research and academic opportunities for their engineers, as it is arguably the best engineering school in the world. This is an incredibly tough decision, and I really need some help making it. Any advice?

For pre-medical students, definitely Harvard. MIT is great for grad school :), but it will be harsh on pre-meds with all the problem sets. Word on the street, Harvard practices considerable grade inflation, with the average grade an A-, and As are the most commons grades assigned! I work with someone who has a son at Harvard. Son says there are only two grades at Harvard, A and B. B means fail. Either will be great, but Harvard is just smarter for your GPA.
