HARVARD OR STANFORD OR

I am currently a junior in High School and im not sure to which college i'd rather go. My main choices include Harvard and Stanford if i were to get into both, so i'd like some opinions based on some things i'd say are important to me.

I get a Economics bachelor and possibly a major in Economics as well. Considering financial economics which one would be my best choice?

Even though it's not the most important, I want to have the full college experience. Considering the party scene and greek life, me wanting to have college rager parties and being part of a fraternity, which would be my best choice?

What about job opportunities after college? I want to work in a big business center and work with money, finances and management. Which college would be the best fit? And does undergrad course really influence in future jobs?

If neither would be the best fit for me, I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you.

Have you gone to Harvard and Stanford’s websites and looked at their course catalog? Have you investigated what courses you would be required to take to graduate with an Econ degree from both colleges? Have you investigated which professors you’d like to study with? Have you investigated what general education requirements each school has? Have you googled the weather in February for Cambridge or Palo Alto? Have you looked at the on-line view books for pretty pictures and seen which you like better? All of these questions go towards “fit” and no person on CC is going to be able to tell you which college would be a better fit for you. That requires leg-work and you have to do it yourself. Here, I’ll get you started.

^^agree. Both schools take academics very seriously no matter what…and secondly, the odds of you getting accepted into BOTH schools will be extremely low (you may get into one or the other or more likely neither)…so, I strongly recommend that when you do have this incredible choice…come back and let us know.

…then, we can talk. Everything else is moot at this point…

LOL…Luke, don’t take this the wrong way but I wouldn’t worry too much about how to choose between Harvard and Stanford…

Chances are you’ll never have to make the decision, both have outrageously low admissions rates and you may only get into one, or neither. “WHICH IS BETTER FOR ME” is a question you have to answer with your own research and criteria. Heck, you don’t even tell us if your parents can pay for all this or are cool with you going to both ends of the nation. If both look good, put them on your list (with several matches and safeties as well, and maybe more dream schools you find along the way)

wait till you’ve either gotten your results or submit your application to ask this question. Cause at the moment it’s more that you haven’t even researched the schools than you’re legitimately torn. Best of Luck!
