Harvard or Stanford?

No, but I've heard she makes a lot of conflicting political statements and rarely clarifies her points.

But oh man is she a hottie.

I met miss nuff at a club called fluid in philly. she holds her alcohol quite well.

Stanford...

Stanford is situated in the worst college city ever. Think of all the rich people that live in Silicon Valley. They all congregate at Palo Alto, CA, which unfortunately happens to be the city Stanford is near. While Stanford's campus is pretty good (Tressider isn't too bad), any city life sucks. It will be hard to find a meal for under $10, clothing for under $50, etc, etc. Palo Alto is not a town you want to be in when you go to college. Palo Alto is where you want to be when you graduate from Stanford, set up a company, have an IPO two weeks ago, and be worth millions.

As a resident of Silicon Valley for almost my entire life, I can state that everything "migrane" wrote is wrong.

Meals are worth well under $10 (in many cases, $5), clothes are less than $20, and Palo Alto is certainly not a bastion of rich snobs, as the author seems to imply. In fact, the city isn't even considered one of the prestigious, opulent Bay Area neighborhoods.

And as for prices in general, they're no worse than any large college town.

While the area might have certain drawbacks, migrane's claims are ridiculous.

Maybe he was thinking of Princeton? ;)

Princeton's prices are not that bad either.

well, I always seemed to run out of money.

Harvard. I want to get as far as possible from LA.

So many people say that Stanford is more "laid-back." I am not sure what exactly they are implying because students at Stanford definitely work their butts off. The "laid-back" attitude refers mainly to the fact that Stanford students are not hermits who study in their dorm all the time. Many go out on weekends and even during the week. Stanford has an AWESOME athletic department so lots of people go to cheer the team. There are numerous ways to relax and unwind at Stanford; however, that does not mean they do not work hard.

I have heard Stanford students being compared to "ducks." They seem to be really carefree, but under the surface they are working hard!

Now, where should you attend assuming you get accepted to Harvard? I do not know and honestly no one can really tell you. You have to find out yourself by visiting both campuses, researching what each school has to offer in your academic interest, and deciding where you would enjoy living for four years.

ha personally my dream is to be in the situation your in. to get in at one of the worlds best universities (better then most of the worlds best universities) and now testing whether you can just barely edge yourself into the best. harvard is great if you get in, but stanford is also amazing. harvard is higher in the prestige, but just barely. both places are great. i just visited cambridge and it rocks (the city near boston that harvard is in) it is a great college town. still id go harvard if i got in.
