Harvard or Yale for Education Policy?

I'm interested in studying education policy (what makes some students succeed more than others, what can we do to maximize success, etc.). I have been accepted to both Harvard and Yale and have been trying to decide between the two of them. Which is generally considered the better school for this type of study? Also, I know that neither school has a specific education major for undergrads, so what would be the next closest thing?

If this is your major decision point then Harvard because it has a Graduate School of Education. Education policy is also often also discussed at the JFK School of Government.

I know Yale is closing their Urban Education Masters program and do not think they have an Education deparment…though I could be very wrong on that so check their website.

Harvard undergraduates can take courses at the GSE. My son is a graduate student in education there and very happy with his courses.

A Political Science/Government major sounds like something you should consider. If you are thinking of teaching I am sure both colleges can provide advice on how to do that and, in any case, you should major in what you have a passion for.

Good luck.
