<p>So, do I have a half-decent shot of getting into Harvard?</p>

<p>SAT: 690 (CR), 610 (M), 750 (W)
ACT: 33 (comp.)
GPA: 4.45 (weighted)
Class rank: I'd guess around 15/456 (new ranks won't be out for like a month)</p>

<p>Extracurriculars (years): Speech team (4), School newspaper (4), BPA chapter (4), Student Council (class treasurer, 4), German Club (4), Quiz Bowl (4), SciOly (4), Interact Club (2)</p>

<p>Sports: JV track (2)</p>

<p>Honors: National Merit Semifinalist, NHS, Quill and Scroll honor society</p>

<p>Teacher Re.: Excellant, very personal and focused on leadership and achievement
Councilor rec.: also very good, more focused on hard work/dedication </p>

<p>Common app essay: Personal struggle to overcome several major health problems </p>

<p>Prospective major (not sure if it's a factor): History</p>

<p>Interview: Just got the contact info, have yet to schedule. Still, I have already interviewed for other schools, and those went very well. Shouldn't be a problem.</p>

<p>Other schools: Notre Dame (accepted), Georgetown (deferred, IU-Bloomington Kelley (accepted)</p>

<p>Regular Decision? Good luck. If you applied early, you would’ve had a better chance. Your extracurriculars are quite strong. However, your SAT and GPA is a bit on the low side for Harvard’s regular decision.</p>

<p>You’ve applied already - you can’t change anything. So chill out - no point of a chances thread!!</p>

<p>Unless you’re a recruit(clearly you aren’t) or a URM – you’re chances are very very bleak!</p>

<p>Harvard RD has an acceptance rate of less than 4%. So it’s definitely a reach for virtually everyone.</p>

<p>I would say you have a good shot. There are quite a few people in Harvard who gets accepted with low scores. I hope you will be one of them as well.</p>

<p>Although you can never really pin point an outcome in the case of schools like Harvard, everybody has a chance if something on their application demands attention. Maybe your essays or teacher recommendations fit this category. However, I’d like to point out that many people have a similar situation when it comes to your EC’s, I can’t see anything that sets you apart. It really looks as though you just participated in everything for the sake of participation. If you happen to have a year left, please find a passion and excel in that field. Not only will this make you a more attractive candidate but even if you do not get in, you will be accomplished and satisfied with your own self. Never do anything for the sake of getting into a college, it only lasts for 4 years and is definitely not worth it being untrue to yourself. </p>
