@tuty143 no worries! We are in this together! Lol
So we all know the positives about Harvard, how about we talk about some of the things we don’t like about it (or negative things we have heard). I’ve heard that Harvard administration cares very little for its undergrads, so there aren’t very many welcome week things or encouragement by the school to be a part of the atmosphere. This is only hearsay on CC so i could very well be wrong!
Ugh I’m so upset, I had a supplemental recommendation Faxed on monday and I just called and they said they didn’t get it which means it won’t be used in my decision
Well, its very cold compared to the weather I’m used to. That’s a negative
@SteveySteve I’m used to the cold and need seasons or else I get sad, so that’s a plus for me.
I asked my counselor today if she had been contacted by Harvard, and she said that Harvard had not called about any of us. (There are 3 of us applying SCEA)
Guys, I have a really, really weird question. I apologize in advance.
So: in my family/culture, we take off our shoes before going into a house to keep whatever is outside, well, outside. How does that work in college? Are there doormats? Can I have a no-shoe zone? HOW WILL I KEEP MY SLIPPERS CLEAN?
I’m sorry for this. I was coming home and this is the first thing that popped into my head.
I asked my counselor too and she said she hasn’t heard anything
not sure if that’s good or bad
Deffered :/, but there is an up side… im happy that I know what I need to fix, and that ill be able to fix it just in time for RD… Still hopeful!
I feel bad for the admissions office. They are probably getting so many calls from stressed CC-ers haha
@verizonwireless wait a second…WHAT? i can’t tell if you’re kidding or not…do you actually know your decision?
I just got my Oct act score and it went up from 30 to 32. i sent the official scores through act but odds are that they won’t get there in time. So I called and the girl said to put a note in the supplementary upload area in the portal and they can read it. I did that and also uploaded a pdf version of the score breakdown. Do you guys think that they will consider it or do you think they’ve already made up their minds…
@verizonwireles wait what?? How do you know already?
@schroscat Oh my God, my family does the same thing! And yeah, that’s a pretty funny, but relevant, thing to wonder about. When I visited my cousin in college, she just left her shoes at the door and wore flip flops inside her dorm… I guess you could just wash the floor really well, have a rule to wear no shoes, and hope for the best!
@Stephiey The thought literally came out of nowhere–I was thinking about ruffled knee-highs and I was like, “WAIT HOW WILL COLLEGE WORK?” I’m going to be the mom of my dorm and buy fuzzy slippers for everyone
@verizonwireless how do you know already???
@schroscat omggg that’s adorable your roommates will be super, duper lucky! (and also YES KNEE-HIGHS and YES FUZZY SLIPPERSSSS)
I’m actually low-key obsessed with onesies/slippers/socks/and just anything that will keep me warm… I guess that’s what happens when you live in Texas and you freak out at any sign of cold weather.
@Stephiey I have knitted slippers called “patik” that my family regularly crochets for me. They’re the warmest little things…AND THEY’RE SUPER ADORABLE! (It’s the best of both worlds, honestly.)
I also may (or may not) have Perry the Platypus slippers. I’m from New York so I’ve gotten the bundling up job pretty much down to a tee.
@schroscat Oh, I just looked “patik” up – they look so comfy and cute! My mom still hasn’t realized that Crocs are terrible, so she tries to buy them and make my sister and I wear them around the house, but I’d rather go barefoot…

^^ this right here is my DREAM.
Also, New York?? Wow… if you were in Texas right now, you’d probably think it was summer.
@GREGORYREEVES yeah i did too is it a good sign?
