Hey everyone! Considering there are threads for Columbia, Stanford and Dartmouth Class of 2022, I just decided to start one for Harvard I can’t wait to meet anyone who will also be applying to Harvard SCEA!
ahhhh so excited yet nervous!
Do you know what major you will be applying to? And where are you from? I cannot wait to start my essays LOL @crimsonbleeding2022
Aaaaah! I’m applying to Harvard 2022 SCEA as well. I want to study environmental science and public policy.
that’s awesome! @nicknick567 This is so exciting! I am so glad we have threads for the class of 2022 already
I feel like I’m not going to have time to write my college essay since I’m doing an internship at the NIH this whole summer.
Omg yeah! This summer is definitely gonna be so busy for most of us~ U should write ur essay on the internship! :))) @Tobster18
You can write your essay a week before applying. Seriously. You don’t need to spend the whole summer on it.
@-@ really?? That can be because you’re a good writer tho XD Just curious, are you a current student at Harvard? @compmom
I think the answer lies somewhere in between. I would suggest getting a head start on it over the summer because school stuff just tends to have a way of disrupting plans, and basically every potential applicant underestimates the amount of time it will take to write college applications and essays.
Yah I think I’m gonna draft and plan my essay over the summer. I’m nervous for the interview!
I agree with skieurope but was making the point that you CAN do it late. I just don’t think anxiety over a busy summer preventing focus on the essay is appropriate This is just opinion but I don’t think the essay is a deal breaker for many, so focusing on other things in the summer is appropriate in my view.
@nicknick567 why are you nervous for the interview? I am sure that if you get one, it will go well
So 2 things here:
• If you get one. Not all applicants, even accepted ones, get interviewed.
• The interview will neither make not break your application.
Good luck.
So I have a question. I just saw that Harvard allows act score choice. However, I irrationally sent both of my act scores. (33 in April and 35 in September)
Will this hurt my application? Will they just ignore the 33?
Wait you already sent in your scores?? @nicknick567
Well they can’t unsee what they see, but they only consider the highest score.
Yah! My college counselor said that would be ok, since they start a folder for you and wait for your application. My mom also urged me to send them. I hope this doesn’t hurt my app! @yayaylearner
I sent them a 31 and will hopefully send them a 34,35 in June. I don’t think they will care that much. Remember a 33 is within their average range so I wouldn’t worry too much.
Hello everyone. Going through this thread, I realized that some of us have already submitted the scores. Wow! well done you guys.I never knew that we could send scores way earlier. So yeah, I was wondering if any of you guys could share how much time you are gonna take to write your essays? Do you guys simply write everything on your own ? Or copy some of the excellent sounding phrases and sentences from books and magazines? Or maybe you have some magical websites that have excellent words that could be used in every type of essays. As I will be one of the international applicants, I am very much nervous about application process. And, most of all, essay is the bit I am worried for . Seriously I need help guys. BEST OF LUCK everyone.[-O< [-O<
