@pubkid Thanks!
What’s wrong with people knowing where you applied? Who cares what they think.
I want Verizon to tell us how he knows he was deferred
@kyuutoryuu I figure your options are a) get in, have a bunch of other people immediately know and compare themselves to you when they haven’t been accepted or b) get rejected, and not only have to cope on your own but have to respond to everyone else who knows. Obviously people will eventually know where I commit, but I intend to wait until I decide in the spring
@GREGORYREEVES where are you going to post the photo?
@Kyuutoryuu that’s seemed out of nowhere? I guess it depends who you tell and also that type of atmosphere you are in. I feel like if your school is one of those that only has an applicant every couple of years or if everyone is simply chill about the whole admissions process, telling people won’t hurt. But I’m not sure if a competitive school has that same feel to it
Can the picture be posted here rather than facebook?
I totally agree with that reasoning!! @pubkid
Yeah cause the FB page is private
@verizonwireless could you please elaborate on that deferred post??
I just had my interview. I think it went amazingly! I am still buzzing from the nerves and all. Fingers crossed!
@QueenN22 My comment was in response to pubkid’s 3 posts above mine.
I go to a competitive school, but I don’t mind answering truthfully when people asked me where I applied early. If I get rejected, I accept the fact that high schoolers will “spread it around.” It doesn’t really matter what they say behind my back. I guess other people don’t feel as comfortable with the possibility of that happening.
How have people heard of deferral? Has anyone been contacted?
@kyuutoryuu Do whatever works for you
Also, we have too many trlls in this thread. People saying they got contacted somehow and then not providing evidence lol
Pics or it didn’t happen xD
@Kyuutoryuu I agree! this is ridiculous
Even if they got letter (highly unlikely), obviously the majority did not. This is calming as many of us are probably highly qualified. I wouldn’t worry.
@Kyuutoryuu I understand. I am exactly the same way but again, I’m not the type to scream it out in public. The thing is once you tell one person, it spreads like wildfire. If anyone asks me “wow, you applied to Harvard?”, I’m not going to lie and say no. At this age, I can (same as you) say that I know who I am and am confident enough in my abilities. If someone doesn’t like it, well chances that we will see other in less than 6 months become less and tbh this won’t even matter
This letter seems more of an type of email Harvard would send if something vital was missing. Full committee hasn’t even taken place yet, I think it convenes tomorrow or Friday, so very few people at this point would have been accepted
Oops. No I didn’t get a letter yesterday (it was an email about interview), my bad didn’t read it lol
