Harvard Summer School financial aid advice!!!

Hi, there probably is a thread somewhere else, but I have a couple of really really urgent questions (since the full payment is due by May 18 and today’s already May 16…)
To those who have went/are going to the Harvard Summer School Program (SSP):

If you received financial aid, how the heck does that work?? I applied for financial aid and got a really generous amount (more than 60% of the full tuition cost) but it’s not recorded anywhere on my online account? How does it work? Do you need to pay in full (the full 11K) and THEN they disburse you? Or do they have to manually go on my account to subtract the financial aid amount?

I’m confused because the only place I’ve seen the financial aid is in an email, and the email said that “The funds mentioned above will be posted as payment to your student account on April 28 as SSP waiver. Please note that disbursement cannot be made unless you have registered in a course (see below).”

So I’m thinking that “registering for a course” means to actually make the full payment, but that doesn’t sound right either because they’re asking everyone to pay 11K all at once?

It sucks because the office is closed today and tomorrow, and Monday is already the deadline. Anyone who’s ever went or are going this year, please advise me on what to do!

I assume there are courses to choose from and the total fee depends on what and how many you take.

are you a high school student, which program are you enrolled in?

@mommdc I applied through the high school program. I just finished registering for my classes but the total doesn’t have my financial aid factored in.

@mommdc Yes, I finished all the steps. I just don’t know why they haven’t added the financial aid to my account

You could try to email someone at this address. Did you receive an email that states how much your financial aid is exactly?

@mommdc I wish I could, but their office is closed on the weekends. Right now my plan is to call them on Monday, but that’s cutting it really close to the deadline (which I’m hoping is 11:59 PM). Yes, I did receive an email that stated my exact amount.

I’m sure if you call on Monday, you’ll still make the payment deadline.

Right now the biggest fear I have is that they took my financial aid and gave it to someone else because I just confirmed my position in the program yesterday (I was waiting on another summer program to respond first before this one, and I just called them yesterday and found out I was not admitted).
