On the Harvard supplement, under Additional Essays, it says "Possible Topics" and lists 5 categories. Are we supposed to choose from those for the essay, or can we write about anything? I'm guessing it's the latter based on their wording, but it's really ambiguous.

I’m not from admissions but our interpretation was based on the word “possible” and not “required”.

You can write on anything. The topics are merely there to stimulate your mind for possible ideas.

If I recall correctly one of the topics is called “topic of your choice” or something like that.

I called the admissions office about this. It’s free choice.
