I didn’t see a thread for this, so I’d thought I’d start one
You got in according to post #26
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/19053709/#Comment_19053709
omg – did you turn down Harvard?
@firstleague that was honestly just a joke, I didn’t expect people to be so mean about it
Yes, they were brutal. Sorry pal.
what are your stats?
I didn’t see any brutal posts, or mean posts. Am I missing something?
So you didn’t get into Harvard and right away you are starting a thread about transferring?
I hope you are going to a school where you can be happy and that thoughts of transferring will fade away. It is very very unlikely for anyone to transfer to Harvard.
Why are you so stuck on the idea of Harvard?
I am sorry you did not get in but please try to enjoy wherever you at going and give it a real chance.
@student23456543 has credibility problems. In one thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1838459-can-i-get-into-harvard.html in December 2015 he had applied to Harvard and reported “SAT:1530 GPA:3.0.”
In a second thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-life/1931993-what-do-you-do-if-your-not-happy-at-your-current-school.html in October 2016 he was enrolled in UMD and reported: “I got a 2220 SAT and a 4.0 GPA in high school…”
From what I hear, if Harvard wants you, they come get you.
Where did you hear that
@ILRmaybe what does that even mean
It’s kind of common sense…Harvard takes about 15-20 kids out of 2000 for transfer applicants. Some are athletes and some have had some kind of contact with someone in their office before.
When Harvard wants you…especially as a transfer… they tell you to apply. You don’t just apply.
@ILRmaybe: The transfer applicants featured in this Crimson article would seem to prove you wrong, as they were not “told by Harvard” to apply: http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2012/12/4/transfer-students-at-harvard/?page=single
@gibby It doesn’t explain anything.
Also Harvard wants extra money, it’s like Brown, they want you to apply.
However, if your going to lie to yourself, and say 15 kids weren’t told to try to attend Harvard by alumni, by Harvard professors, or by Harvard staff…then that’s your choice.
@ILRmaybe: As the parent of a Harvard graduate, someone who understands the application process, both for freshman and transfer applicants, and someone who knows Harvard’s director of transfer admissions (she used to be the regional admissions officer for my daughter’s high school), you are dead wrong. If you choose to believe such nonsense, that’s your issue, but it’s simply not true.
I see from your post history that you’re obsessed with transferring to Cornell. Best of luck to you!
Is it true that Harvard typically only accepts athletes for transfer admission?
@amoore001 not only athletes… as a general figure, i think they took 12 students one year, 4 of which were recruited athletes
It seems people are getting a bit off topic, so I’ll try to steer this back towards admissions. Anyone else here a transfer hopeful for 2017? Is there a general trend as to the time decisions go out? I’m checking my inbox like a madman and find myself overly anxious because I got accepted to my other top choice but can’t commit until I hear from Harvard. My application started as kind of a gag. A “why not” thing. Now I find myself really invested in the far off prospect of acceptance which makes about as much sense as getting worked up thinking you won the lottery after buying one ticket. Anyway, I google Harvard transfer like once a day now to see if there’s any general news. Not much, so this forum is like my one bit of hope I suppose.
I dug back in old threads that dug back in old threads and found this.

@Meningeezy I think its June 1st this year
Transfer admissions is directly related to how many currently enrolled students will NOT be returning next year. The deadline for students to submit a cancellation housing form this year is May 12th. So admissions will not know how many beds are available for transfer students until then: https://osl.fas.harvard.edu/dates-deadlines
